Item - Genuine Miniature Medal in Good GF condition with ribbon.

History and medal information - British AFC Medal Air Force Cross Gallantry Medal EIIR. Obverse the cross consists of a thunderbolt, the arms conjoined by wings, base bar terminating in a bomb, surmounted by another cross of aeroplane propellers the finials inscribed with the royal cypher. Reverse side has the royal cypher and the date 1918. Instituted June 1918 this medal was only available to warrant officers and officers in respect of flying in non operational Gallantry in the Air. As a result of Gallantry medal reviews 1993 this medal is now awarded to all ranks.
