History and medal information - British Special Constabulary Long Service & Good Conduct Medal was instituted 30th August 1919. This medal comes in Bronze and was awarded to all ranks of the special constabulary for 9 years unpaid service with more than 50 duties per annum. Obverse - effigy of the reigning monarche; Reverse - a partial laurel wreath with a six-line text inscribed FOR FAITHFUL.
