Ribbon Colours - Dark Blue centre with White edges.

Item - Full Size Replacement Medal in mint condition with ribbon MOD Approved and made in the UK.

History and medal information - This is a British Navy Long Service and Good Conduct medal awarded to Marines and Navy personnel. The Navy LSGC has been awarded since 1831. Originally awarded for 21 years exemplary conduct, but the period was reduced to 10 years in 1874, then later increased to 15 years. Bars for additional periods of 15 years were instituted by George V. In March 1981 commissioned officers of the naval services became eligible after 15 years service, provided at least 12 years were served in the ranks.The reverse side has a three masted man of war ship surrounded on the edges with - FOR LONG SERVICE AND GOOD CONDUCT.
