MINIATURE QUEENS SOUTH AFRICA MEDAL DEFENCE OF KIMBERLEY CLASP.

Ribbon Colours - Red with two narrow Blue stripes and a broad central Orange stripe.

History and medal information - Queens South Africa medal for the Anglo-Boer War 1899-1902. Because of the large numbers of British and Imperial forces which took part and the numerous campaign and battle clasps awarded this is one of the most popular and closely studied of all medals. 26 Clasps are available for this medal but the maximum recorded is 9 for a single medal. Some of the clasps are Cape Colony, Defence of Kimberley, Defence of Ladysmith ( as per the film Zulu), Orange free state, Transvaal, Diamond Hill.  Obverse - the Jubilee bust of Queen Victoria; Reverse - Britannia holding the flag and a laurel crown towards a large group of soldiers, with warships offshore. The words SOUTH AFRICA are inscribed round the top.
