History and medal information - This medal was to troops taking part in the campaigns which ended in the annxation of the Punjab. Unlike the Sutlej medal however this Silver medal had a standard design. Large numbers of the medal were awarded to native troops, however many were melted down and therefore suprisingly few remain on the market in comparison with medals in European recepients.
