Ribbon Colours - Rose-Pink with Pearl-Grey edges and a central Pearl-Grey stripe.

Item - Genuine Miniature Medal in mint condition with ribbon.

History and medal information - Formally entitled the Medal of the Order of the British Empire for Meritorious Service. It is awarded for meritorious service by both civil and military personnel although for some years it was issued as a third grade bravery award, particularly for air raid deeds not considered to be of the level of the GC or GM.   Obverse has the seated figure of Britannia, her left hand resting on a shield and her right holding a trident with a blazing sun upper right. The words MERITORIOUS SERVICE  in te exergue. Reverse has four lions passant gardant two either side and round the foot , in two concentric arcs, with the Royal cypher in the centre surmounted by an imperial crown. Named in engraved capital round the rim.
